
Alexis Leder is a lifelong artist with a passion for visual storytelling and design. As an accomplished children’s book illustrator, her work is featured in two Mom’s Choice Gold Award-winning titles. She also previously served as art director at a small publishing company, where she helped shape the visual identity of numerous projects.
Alexis specializes in theatrical costume design, blending historical research with creative interpretation. In 2023, she was awarded the prestigious American University Summer Scholars and Artists Fellowship, during which she researched, designed, and constructed an 18th-century court gown for the stage.
Deeply committed to arts education, Alexis currently teaches at Montgomery College in Montgomery County, Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from American University and is pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Outside of her professional work, Alexis enjoys gardening, exploring D.C.'s museums, and watching historical documentaries.
